The Event: |
Every once in awhile a new race comes on the scene and shows that it's here to say. Such is the case with the Mountain Top 10K, introduced to rave reviews just last year. Runners loved the scenic, challenging course in beautiful Warren, New Jersey and all of the first class amenities. For 2006, the event organizers have added a special 5K to honor the Warren Bicentennial. The 10K still offers the hills, lots of green and long stretches without turns. The 5k is mostly flat traversing through upscale residential neighborhoods and is prime for some fast times.
To be sure that the whole family can participate, we've added a Kids' Karnival featuring face painting, tattoos, Sparkee, the Somerset Patriots' mascot and lots of fun and games. And, if you can't join us on June 11, but still want to be part of the action, sign up as a virtual runner and we'll send you an event t-shirt. $15.00 is all it takes to go virtual.
The Mountain Top 10K and Bicentennial 5K will provide first class amenities including post race massage, the Mountain Top Tee, super refreshments, multiple water stops and DJ music. You'll love the whole Mountain Top experience so register now.
Hope to see you there! We're easy to find via Routes 22, 78 or 287.

WHO BENEFITS?: |
Mountain Top School for Young Children, in keeping with its current school year's theme of community and Warren's Bicentennial celebration, has chosen the Warren Rescue Squad as the primary beneficiary of this event.
The Squad was established in 1940 as an all-volunteer agency, and today the approximate force of 25 EMTs and drivers continues to serve the Township of Warren's community of 16,000. These dedicated men and women selflessly volunteer their time answering over 700 calls per year and undergoing extensive training.
The Squad has identified the need for various critical supplies to stock its building for use as an emergency shelter The building is currently used on a daily basis, as well as during community emergencies, and future uses include providing temporary housing to citizens in the event of a disaster. Mountain Top School is pleased to be assisting the Squad in this capacity.
Mountain Top School for Young Children was founded in 1994 and has grown to be one of the premier early childhood schools in the metropolitan area. It is one of the few in the state that have received the highest level of accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The school provides a safe and loving environment for its young students. In addition to a teaching and administrative staff that is second to none, a committed group of wonderful parental volunteers help make the school the extraordinary facility it is.
