Who Benefits?: The Batsto Citizens Committee Inc. was founded in 1956 to aid the State in developing Batsto Village as a historic site. BCCI lends whatever assistance it can to the administration of Wharton State Forest and representatives of the State Park Service, in the form of time, money, expertise, or a variety of mutually agreed projects.
Directions: Parkway from South: Take GSP North to Exit 50 (New Gretna), to Route 9 North. Turn left onto Rt. 542, go 12 Miles, Batsto is on the right.
Parkway from North: Take the GSP South to Exit 52. Turn right at stop sign onto E. Greenbush Rd. Follow signs to Batsto.Turn right onto Rt. 542 W. Stay on 542 for 9 miles. Batsto is on right.
From Rt. 206: Take Rt. 206 South, to mile marker 3 and make a left onto Rt. 613. Then left onto Route 693. Left onto Rt. 542. Village is on your left.
What is Historic Batsto Villag: Historic Batsto Village, a nationally recognized historic site, is located in Wharton State Forest. Archeological investigations have discovered evidence of Prehistoric life in the area. The Batsto Iron Works was built along the Batsto River in 1766 using bog ore "mined" from the banks of streams and rivers. The Iron Works produced cooking pots and kettles. During the Revolutionary War, Batsto manufactured supplies for the Continental Army. For more history, see www.batstovillage.org.
After the Race: Batsto Village is a family-friendly destination. Tour the mansion, explore the village, stop at the visitor's center for a film on the village history and museum shop, picnic on the grounds, bring bikes or backpacks for hiking. Canoe/kayak rentals available 4 miles away at www.belhavencanoe.com.

Course:5K is on paved road with rolling hills in scenic Wharton State Forest. Health walk is on hard-packed sand trails through Historic Batsto Village, passing many of the village's historic sites.
Kids' dashes on grassy area.

Schedule: 7:30-8:45 a.m. registration and packet pickup
9 a.m. 5K race/walk
9:10 a.m. 2-mile health walk
10:15 a.m. kids' dashes (ages 2-11)
10:30 a.m. awards ceremony


5K awards three deep in 5-year age groups from 14 & younger to 80 & older, plus top overall male/female and top masters male/female.


Amenities: Authentic, original Batsto Pig T-Shirt and goodie bags guaranteed for all pre-registered runners and walkers. Random raffle drawing after the race. Refreshments for all! Unique prizes for all participants in Kids' Dashes.
