The 2012 Building Tomorrows Run/walk:
The ARC of Essex County invites you to run the 2012 Building Tomorrows 5K on the second Saturday in April. Run entirely in Bloomfield’s Brookdale Park on paved trails, the fast, scenic course is built for speed. This USATF sanctioned event benefits the programs and services offered by The ARC of Essex County. Individuals served by The ARC of Essex County will join the companion 2-mile walk and dearly appreciate your participation.

START TIME - 5K & 2 Mile Walk/10:000 a.m.
REGISTRATION - 8:15 am - 9:45 a.m.
AWARDS - 11:15 a.m.

Amenities:
There will be great food, a DJ, tee shirts and goody bags for every pre-registered runner and walker. Tee shirts and goody bags for same day registrants are distributed while supplies last. Come out to support The ARC of Essex County. A fun time is guaranteed for all. Strollers and pets on a leash are welcome in the 2 Mile Walk only. Brookdale Park is located just off the Garden State Parkway, exit 151. Do come and join us on April 2nd.
Course and Awards:
COURSE - Double loop, park course, primarily shaded. USATF certified. Water stop. Split times. Water will be available along the course at 1.5 miles and at finish line. Post race refreshments will be available.
Awards: Top 3 overall male & Female; Top 3 male & female in each age group.
AGE GROUPS - 14 & under to 85 & over in 5 year increments.

The ARC of Essex County is a private, non-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities in and around Essex County, NJ. The ARC was formed over 60 years ago through the vision a small dedicated group of parents who wanted a better life for their children who had disabilities.
Today, a multi-million dollar budget is needed to support the programs and services The ARC provides to over 1300 individuals with developmental disabilities in nearly 45 distinct programs.
By combining compassion and competence, the over 500 staff, help individuals from birth through senior years to realize their potential and live fuller, more satisfying lives. Exit 151. Make left off of exit ramp onto Watchung Avenue. Follow to 5th light. Right onto Broad Street. Left onto Broad Street continuance. Bear left onto Belleville Avenue. Left into Brookdale Park.
From GSP Southbound:
Exit 151. Make right off of exit ramp toward Bloomfield/Montclair onto Watchung Avenue. Right onto Broad St. continuance. Follow directions from Broad Street above. |
