This race goes on RAIN or SHINE. Held on Labor Day until 2009, this race is now on the last Sunday in August! It gets hot in August, so the race is held early, 8:30 AM. The course was recently changed to follow the Firecracker 4 Miler path through Nomahegan Park in Cranford. This move from a 5 mile race to a 4 mile race has received much support in the running community. Like the Hangover, this course is fast, flat, SHADY and scenic. Traffic is controlled and water stops and mile splits are available on the course. Ample post-race refreshments await you at the end. |

From the GSP North or South: get off at Exit 137. At the bottom of the ramp turn right onto North Avenue. At the 2nd light (from the North the 3rd light) turn right for the beginning of Springfield Ave. Nomahegan Park is to the right and Union County College is to the left at the 3rd light on Springfield Ave. VERY limited parking at Nomahegan. Abundant parking available at Union County College. |
